Mobile Home AC Blowing Warm Air?
Check These 3 Things First
Mobile home AC systems are packaged differently than standard home units, but the first things to check are the same:
1. Thermostat setting. Make sure it’s set to COOL and the temperature is set lower than the current room temperature. Sounds obvious, but a bump or a power flicker can reset settings without you noticing.
2. Breaker panel. Go to your breaker box and look for a tripped breaker — it’ll be in the middle position, not fully ON or OFF. Reset it by flipping it fully OFF then back ON. If it trips again immediately, stop and call a technician.
3. The outdoor unit. Go outside and see if the outdoor unit is actually running. If the fan isn’t spinning or you hear a hum but nothing starts, the capacitor may be the issue — one of the most common repairs on mobile home packaged units. That’s not a DIY fix, but it’s a quick and inexpensive repair.
